Jobe Bellingham transfer: Borussia Dortmund interested in signing Sunderland midfielder

Borussia Dortmund is interested in signing Jowe Bellingham from Sunderland, according to Sky in Germany.

Dortmund -bosses, including director Lars Ricken and head coach Niko Kovac, were in England on Wednesday, where negotiations are deemed to have taken place.

Jowe Bellingham is under contract in Sunderland until 2028.

Dortmund signed Jon's older brother Jude Bellingham from Birmingham in 2020. He spent three years in Germany before moving to Real Madrid.

Jobe Bellingham has four goals and three assists in 40 performances for Sunderland this season and started on Friday in their 2-1 play-off semi-final wins on the first pear on Coventry.

The second stage takes place on 13 May in the Stadium van Het Licht, live on Sky Sports.

Bellingham on 'calm' Le Bris

In February, Bellingham spoke with Sky Sports about the impact of Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris, whose “calm” approach has benefited both the players and the supporters.

“I certainly realized quite early that he was really calculated in his work and he likes to analyze and he gives you a lot of feedback, which is really good as a player because you want to know where you stand,” said Bellingham.

“You want to know how you can improve and get better all the time. He is a really calming figure to also have on the touchline. Probably a contrast with the fans in the stadium, but he is really calm, which gives us a lot of freedom to express ourselves.”

Next up: How Jobe is making the name of Bellingham is possession

The name of Bellingham has left an indelible mark on the championship.

The second layer of England is where Jude made his name and the competition has forged the global superstar that we see for us today.

But that does not mean that there is no room for another Bellingham to write their name in the history books and to make their own journey.

Jude's younger brother comes with the temptation of others to make comparisons and to determine an unreachable benchmark for success, which can be the best overwhelming.

However, the stage is set for the championship to crown a new star – and now Borussia Dortmund is interested.

Jowe Bellingham is the next.
