Joe Cole has praised the transfer trade of Borussia Dortmund as Serhou Guirassy, who was only signed in the summer, continued to produce in their Champions League campaign while tipped Arsenal to consider a movement
Joe Cole has tipped Borussia Dortmund -Frontman Serhou Guirassy for a summer movement after his excellent Champions League campaign. Despite the exit from the German side, their striker is at the top of the race in front of the golden boat.
Dortmund, who made the final last season, was a knockout in Tuesday's quarterfinals by Barcelona despite winning the second leg at home. Their 3-1 victory was owed to a Guirassy hat trick when he became the first African player to score a Treble in the last eight of the competition.
The Bundesliga -Outfit has previously shown the willingness to cash in on their top players if the correct compensation is recorded and the Exploits of Guirassy on the European stage will have seen various clubs.
Cole believes that Arsenal, who will pursue a no. 9 who they can rely on regular goals this summer, can consider shortlist the frontman of Dortmund and also to tip Chelsea to weigh a potential offer.
He said on TNTSport: “The Dortmund recruitment team is incredible. They have a system there because players feel at home there. Guirassy, how much would he go now? They will stand in line for him, I know for sure.” Cole also added: “I think Chelsea, he can play that role. Arsenal, perhaps. He has that power. If you place the ball at the back of the net at that pace, you can choose your club and choose your money.”
The lack of goals of Arsenal has cost them the opportunity to challenge the Premier League title. Their injury crisis in the last third has uncovered their lack of a productive frontman, which will be tackled this summer. In the meantime, Chelsea will probably add more firepower to their front line.
Guirassy came last season with 30 goals for Stuttgart before earning an A -relocation to the Champions League finalists of last season. The Guinese also flags for his continent and scores more than any other African player in the tournament.
He said: “It is a great feeling to be the best African scorer in the Champions League, especially among so many incredible players. Leading of the charts shows that I am a strong finisher, but nothing would be possible without the support of my teammates. I cannot achieve this myself.”
The German side is also confronted with the prospect of losing Englishman Jamie Gittens, who has continued to bloom since he goes from Manchester City to Dortmund. Those at Signal Iduna Park are ready to demand a substantial fee for the winger – and will probably also want top dollar for Guirassy.
