Joe Pyfer opens about cancellation of UFC Mexico City
This afternoon, with just a few hours to go until the first bell, the UFC announced that an illness had removed Joe Pyfer from his fight with Kelvin Gastelum tonight in UFC Mexico City. It was one of the most exciting battles of the evening, in which two stubborn and explosive fighters became involved.
A short explanation about the UFC X page was: “Due to illness, Joe Pyfer was removed from his middleweight fight with Kelvin Gastelum. As a result, this competition has been canceled from today's event.”

I just want to say that my heart was broken, I couldn't fight today, “wrote Pyfer on his Instagram stories. “I became super sick and hopefully we can move this fight in a few weeks. Unfortunately, the territory of traveling outside the United States. Never apologize again. We will come back.”
Kelvin Gastelum was planning Grote UFC -COMEBACK
The most destroyed man tonight will be Kelvin Gastelum, who is looking for a great revival of the career. His fate hung in the balance and had comically missed something that was close to the welterweight limit for his last fight with Daniel Rodriguez.

He rose technically under the newly arranged middleweight limit and won the fight. But fans thought that Rodriguez was robbed, if not literally on the score cards due to the fact that his opponent did not have to cut any weight at all while he balloon at night.
That victory came after an entry defeat against Sean Brady on his return to Welterweight, as a result of which his record brought 2-6 to 2-6 since 2018. A victory again in the middleweight against someone like Pyfer would have pushed him back in the ranking and potential statement.
