The last time that 'The Eraser' foot got into the UFC Octagon was last June when he took the former middleweight King Sean Strickland on UFC 302, in what was a very criticized fight.

Paulo Costa is completely brutalized Johny Hendricks in his pension fight

When 'The Eraser' first released the scene in the promotion in 2017, he was immediately emphasized as a potential future star in sport because of his hilarious personality and incredible fighting style.

Costa then scored two emphatic knockouts in his first two outings and earned himself a fight against the former UFC Welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks.

This was by far the biggest test of the career of the Brazilian at that time and a victory over 'Big Rig' would show that he had a genuine chance of becoming UFC champion.

And early in the fight, Costa showed its well -completed skills, making it rough for Hendricks from the start.

After landing various heavy right hands and right body kicks on the harness of Hendricks, Costa grew clearly in confidence and started to taunt Hendricks when he landed a strike back.

In round two, the Brazilian landed a huge right main kick on the temple of Hendricks, followed by a large left hook that temporarily dropped the former champion.

In one way or another, Hendricks reached the end of the fight without being switched off, but he soon decided that it would be his last fight in the sport, and announced his retirement.

Joe Rogan had awe for the performance of Costa against Hendricks

UFC commentator Joe Rogan was lucky to view the majority of Hendricks's career in the UFC on the way to become the champion.

Not long after the event, Rogan responded to the performance of Costa against 'Big Rig' and claimed that 'the fight was an attack'.

“He fought against the F— Gum, guy, that guy is scary, even after the USADA scary,” Rogan responded.

“Guy, he's so jacked. Perhaps the most beautiful guy on the planet, he is up there. When he stood next to Johnny Hendricks at the weightings, I thought: 'No, Johny, you are not a middleweight. '

“The fight was actually an attack, it was an attack. You would never believe that Johny Hendricks was a former champion if you saw how the Gum hit the s – from him, I mean, he hit the s – out of him.

“He just got f— – destroyed and just walked down and hit him … It wasn't a competition, he blew him out of the water,” Rogan continued.

It is fair to say that because of the exciting fighting style and the nice personality of Costa, he could possibly find back in the middleweight title match with a few big wins, starting at UFC 317.
