Joe Rogan explains how Nick Diaz brought about a revolution in MMA

Rogan often talks about his favorite fighters on his wildly popular podcast.

The 57-year-old recently called Floyd Mayweather the best boxer of all time.

Rogan also shared his theory about what makes 'the scariest MMA fighters', of whom he believes they were born from a difficult childhood in which some form of physical confrontation brought at home.

In 2020 he passionately broke the game of the older brother of Nate Diaz.

The proud resident of Stockton, California, was known for using his world -class cardio as a weapon to drown his opponents with ruthless performance, instead of putting them asleep with one shot.

Diaz combined that with Trashtalk halfway through the battle that his opponents confused, who had never encountered a fighter like him, since MMA was still in the early years when he was in his best years.

“Nick Diaz has changed the game, in terms of his elite cardio,” Rogan told ex-PUC star Josh Thomson.

'He did something that was new, and that new was: he will not hit you with 100 percent, he will hit you with 50 percent. But he will hit you twice as much and you will never be able to breathe again.

'He will sit on top of you and talk to you all the time. So he will work with you psychologically, he will disturb your breathing by constantly beating. As soon as he realizes that you are injured, he digs at the body and puts it on you.

“In addition, black band Jiu-Jitsu skills, really good wrestling-top-down defense, an iron chin and an unstoppable will. His will to beat you simply could not stop.

“When Nick was at the top in StrikeForce, I think to this day that he was one of the best fighters who ever did it.”

Even if one of his greatest fans, Rogan Diaz no longer wants to see fighting. The 41-year-old seemed like a shadow of himself during his long series of losses, including defeats against Georges St-Pierre, Carlos Condit, Anderson Silva and Robbie Lawler.

Nevertheless, he was booked for a confrontation with Vicente Luque during UFC 310 in December, but the Brazilian fighter finally stifled Themba Gorimbo on Dana White's last pay-per-view-card of 2024.

Jake Shields gives positive Nick Diaz update

Just a few days before his fight with Luque was canceled, disturbing images that showed that Diaz was trying to set fire to a piece of grass. It led to widespread concern about the mental and physical well -being of the iconic fighter.

Earlier this week, his old teammate and friend, Jake Shields, gave a positive update. The MMA veteran with 46 fights refused to announce details about the personal life of Diaz, but he assured the fans that things looked good.

“He is doing a lot better,” Shields said in the Podcast The Overdogs.

“I don't go on anything personal with him. But he had a number of things that had been going on for a while and he is finally heading in the right direction.

“So I have good hope for Nick, because he is like a brother of mine, one of my best friends.

“Life is sometimes heavy, with ups and downs, and things can happen. Nick had something to do with something, and I think he's going in the right direction. I haven't felt that way for a long time. I finally feel a lot better about that situation.

“We'll see, time will learn it. I am so close to him that it is painful to see how someone is struggling with some things. But I think he will finally get better. “
