Joe Rogan believes that it is finally the right time for the UFC to add more weight classes to the mix.
After he had eliminated Alexander Volkanovski on UFC 298 to become the new featherweight champion and then to become the first hunter who finished Max Holloway at UFC 308, Ilia Topuria shot in superstar.
And with that the Spaniard believes that he has achieved everything he can do on 145 pounds, leave his featherweight title and send shock waves through the sport.
After his title holiday, Topuria constantly chased a fight against the current lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev.

Joe Rogan comments on the lightweight movement of Topuria while he suggests
Despite the fact that 'El Matador' is generally considered substandard for the lightweight division, after the announcement of his move, he claimed that the featherweight weight took too much toll to him.
While he is talking about the UFC 300 performance of Max Holloway against Justin Gaethje and the upcoming relocation of Topuria, UFC icon, Joe Rogan has suggested that it is now time for the UFC to introduce new weight classes.
“(Holloway) grew pretty big when he went upstairs to fight, he put the weight on the right, he looked fantastic, he hit his A -“, Rogan began to explain during an episode of his fighting companion.
“You have to wonder how much that Ilia Topuria Knock -Out from Max has taken, because that was a beating. Ilia is just so f— dangerous, he is so technical, his striking, the way he floats and moves and he is so comfortable with his head movement.
“He is a step for everyone. I think the 145 pound is cut (too much for him). Look, man, they all have to stop cutting weight, that's the reality, cutting weight is bulls – it's terrible for you, they need more weight classes and they have to stop cutting the weight.
“They must find a way to check the hydration levels and place people in a weight class (they are comfortable in),” the commentator continued.
UFC Baas, Dana White has shy through to add new weight classes, but the promotion has never taken the step.
Joe Rogan does not think that Islam Makhachev vs Ilia Topuria will happen afterwards
During the episode of Fight Companion, the guest of Rogan, Brendan Schaub called the potential fight between Makhachev and Topuria.
“I don't think that happens,” Rogan replied.
“I wonder what they are going to do with Topuria. I love Topuria vs (Charles) Oliveira. Oliveira is so long, so dangerous everywhere, enormous reach benefit. Those (light weights) are really big, huge,” Rogan continued.
Although Rogan is hopeful for a potential battle between Charles Oliveira and Topuria, the two online hooks have exchanged and stated Oliveira that he is not interested in a fight against Topuria.
