Joe Rogan makes a wild suggestion with regard to strikes of back head
With the reputation of Rogan apparently lower, the UFC commentator has made a bizarre suggestion with regard to strikes at the back of the head.
At the end of last year, the UFC finally legalized the use of downward elbows, something that has been constantly called over the years, especially given that it was a factor in the only loss of career of Jon Jones.
And with that Rogan believes that the UFC should legalize incredibly dangerous strikes to the back of the head.
During an episode of his podcast with Jorge Masvidal, the 57-year-old claimed that it 'doesn't make sense' why strikes in the back of the head are illegal.
“I don't even know if we should stop people in the back of the head; it makes no sense and it should be legal,” Rogan claimed controversially.
“If you talk to a neuroscientist, they say that it is a particularly vulnerable area … Is the temple not? Are the eyes not? Everything is so vulnerable,” he continued.
Michael Chandler notorious for strikes behind the head
Someone who would certainly be happy with a possible change in the rules is lightweight competition Michael Chandler.
Chandler received serious criticism of his fight against Charles Oliveira at 309, because there was a moment in the fight where he seemed to be in the neighborhood to finish the Brazilian with several strikes on the back of his head.
Rogan's bizarre suggestion joins a long list of other suggestions, including fighters who fight without gloves, rounds that were resumed in the same position in which they ended, the use of head bumps and more.
