Joe Rogan thinks he knows why Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev are a cut over their competition.
Khabib Nurmagomedov went 29-0 and won the UFC light weight title before he retired after he had submitted Justin Gaethje in October 2020.
In his absence, Islam Makhachev demanded the crown of 155 pounds and became the pound-for-pound best hunter in MMA during a similar dominant 27-1 run in sport.
Joe Rogan believes it is their mentality that separates the Russian teammates from other hunters in the UFC.

Joe Rogan emphasizes the importance of discipline
During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan experience, the UFC commentator and Cameron Hanes, an ultra-marathon runner, bowhunter and author, which makes hunters such as Nurmagomedov and Makhakev so good.
Eventually they decided that pious discipline separates them from other hunters.
“Khabib had incredibly debilitating training sessions,” said Rogan.
“That was one of the things that was so clear with his endurance.
“Their discipline was unparalleled. No girlfriends, no telephones, no bulls -, no video games. F – You. We train. Eat, repair, train. You really want to be a champion? This is how to work.
“This is how Islam Makhachev is so good. This is how Khabib is so good.
“Those guys are disciplined.”
Joe Rogan replaced for UFC 315
Joe Rogan will not participate in the broadcast for the UFC Pay-per-View event of his weekend.
The beloved Podcaster and comedian is the voice of the largest UFC events, but in recent years he has chosen international trips for shows.
It was recently revealed that Rogan will be replaced by Dominick Cruz for UFC 315 After a joke, he would 'prefer to go to Russia' than to go north of the border to view Belal Muhammad vs Jack della Maddalena in Montreal, Canada.
Rogan is expected to be back on 7 June for UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey.
