The winning mentality and calmness of Thomas Tuchel under pressure is exactly what England needs to win trophies, says Glen Johnson.
Tuchel has made an ideal start of life in the Dugout of England, which supervises the qualifying victories of the World Cup over Albania and Latvia, while also keeping two clean sheets in 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.
The three lions return to action on June 7, against Andorra, before they record Senegal in a friendly three days later.
Tuchel is the third foreign head coach that leads England, after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
But the reasoning behind the decision was his success at club level, delivering trophies during his time at Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Tuchel received a 18 -month contract by the football club to Leiden England at the 2026 World Cup, which takes place in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
And Johnson, who played 54 times for the three lions, believes that the German's experience with securing big trophies will be the key to future success for England.
“Van Chelsea, yes, but not since the camp of England,” Johnson told the statistics performing when he was asked if he had spoken with former teammates about Tuchel's appointment.
“Of course they are just ready, right? But yes, he is a sympathetic man.
“He knows how to deal with big players. He has been in the final, has won big trophies and I think that is what England needs.
“We have some great players, and you need a manager who has experienced that kind of deep end of the stages of tournaments when they can stay calm.”

Eyebrows were raised when Tuchel called his first 26-man team for their recent games.
There were return for Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford, while Arsenal Teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly and then Burn of Newcastle United were chosen for the first time.
But those decisions turned out to be worthwhile, with Lewis-Skelly the first goal of the Tuchel era against Albania and the Third-Younst Scorer for the Drie Leeuwen, after only Wayne Rooney (17 years 317 days in September 2003) and Michael Owen (18 years 164 days in May 1998).
“It's a nice easy way out of the door. But I think some guys looked great. And as I say, they had enough in the tank,” Johnson said.
“We would have seen much more against a better opponent. So, as I say, it's positive. It's a good start.
“There are many boys who may have avoided their debut nerves against simple opponents. So hopefully they can now attract and continue.”
There was also an impressive return to the English fold for Chelsea captain Reece James, who marked his first start for his country since September 2022 with a beautiful free kick against Latvia.
James has been destroyed by injuries in recent years, but missing Alexander-Arnold because of an ankle problem, the 25-year-old grabbed the chance with both hands.
The right back position was often spoken during the eight-year term of office of Gareth Southgate, with Kyle Walker often preferred.

However, Johnson believes that if James can stay fit, he must be in the startline-up of Tuchel for Alexander-Arnold and Walker.
“Yes, above that. I am a big fan, of course he has his injury problems, but most people do, so as long as he can stay fit, then he is the all -rounder for me, he is probably the best,” concluded Johnson.
“They are all great, don't get me wrong, but they all offer different things.
“I think he is probably the all -round football player with Reece that in this game he is now the more all -rounder from the three to be honest.”
