Jon Jon reacts to being named best UFC fighter ever by former two-weight champion with GOAT claim

Jon Jones is never shy to tell people that he is the greatest hunter in the history of MMA.

The UFC Heavyweight Champion is generally considered the goat after a Hall of Fame UFC -Run.

A controversial DQ defeat against Matt Hamill is the only blemish on his incredible 28-1 MMA record.

Even the hunters who compete with Jon Jones in the greatest debate of all time consider him the best of the best.

For many, George St-Pierre is the best hunter that the Octagon has adorned after a 26-2 run in MMA.

The former welterweight and champion middleweight threw the two defeats on his record in sensational style.

St-Pierre defeated Michael Bisping, Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit, Johny Hendricks, BJ Penn, Matt Hughes and Matt Serra during a legendary career that was devoid of the controversies that have consistently surfaced for Jones.

The favorite of the Canadian fan certainly has the right to call himself the goat – but he refuses to do this.

“I think it's hard to find someone better than Jon Jones,” said St-Pierre in March 2024.

“Jon Jones is so good. Jon Jones is extremely talented, but he is also extremely difficult. People have no idea how difficult he is. I trained with him. I have seen him go through the routine. He is so incredibly cool.

“I remember the fight he had with Vitor Belfort, I think his arm is disrupted and he even fought with a disrupted arm. Even one of his fighting, his toe was broken.

“Usually if you have a man who is very talented, it doesn't come with toughness. Jon Jones is the full package. He has everything. Elite Striker, Elite Grappler, [and] He is good everywhere. “

Almost a year later, Jones encountered an image with the quotes from St-Pierre about him.

The 37-year-old shared the message on his Instagram story with a reaction of two words that read: “An Honor”.

What is the next step for Jon Jones?

The inheritance of St-Pierre has been established as the 43-year-old is not interested in a comeback after his retirement in 2017.

'Bones' still has something to prove, with a part of the fans who suggest that Interim -Fc heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall could be the first man to make him legitimate.

The conversations for a huge unification started after Jones had eliminated Stipe Miocic in November on UFC 309.

A few months later there is no official update, but UFC boss Dana White has guaranteed that Jones vs Aspinall will take place in 2025.

It is now just a matter of waiting for all parties to come to a deal for a deal for the greatest fight of the year.
