Jon Jones claims he’d destroy his greatest UFC rival even worse at heavyweight

Prime vs. Prime, UFC champion Jon Jones says that a fight with Daniel Cormier would not even be close.

The Two-Division UFC champions are considered one of the best hunters to ever adorn the Octagon, demonstrably no larger than Jones, who subsequently defeats every opponent he encounters, apart from a disqualification result against Matt Hamill.

28-1 (1 NC) In his professional career, only a handful of hunters Jones have pushed his boundaries, such as Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier, the two men's bones' entertained a rematch.

Cormier lost twice to Jones, by decision on UFC 182 and by TKO on UFC 214 in 2017, which was eventually destroyed into a no-contest after Jones had tested positively on the steroid Turinabol.

Cormier had a much better fight in their Rematch and never had the chance to fight Jones and later moved to heavyweight, where he became a two -weight world champion with a first round Ko of the then champion Stipe Miocic the following year.

Years after Cormier's retirement, the heavyweight Kroon now belongs to Jones, who loves his chances in a fantasy fight.

Jon Jones says he would beat 'peak' Daniel Cormier worse than he did in light heavyweight

Just like his light heavyweight career, Daniel Cormier had only lost one man in the heavyweight division, who was Stipe Miocic in his last two fights at 40 and 41.

Cormier was a heavyweight at a certain point 15-0 and recorded his second title at the age of 39.

In an interview with Geoffrey Woo, Jones was asked how a trilogy fight between him and Cormier would have gone in their prime numbers.

“Peak 'Bones' vs. Peak DC in heavyweight?” Said Jones.

“I believe I defeated Daniel Cormier with heavyweight worse than I defeated him on light heavyweight,” Jones claimed.

“I feel that my speed has passed into a way that he did not do. I think I hit him quite worse in heavyweight.

“I kick harder. I hit harder like a heavyweight, but I kick a lot harder. They have seen what my stairs have done to him [in] The first fight, “Jones added.

Jon Jones is currently 2-0 in the heavyweight division with finishes of Ciryl Gane and Stipe Miocic.

Jon Jones called Daniel Cormier his 'greatest rival' and 'Motivator'

Whether you saw it as a knockout or a no-contest, Jones put his heated rivalry with Cormier to rest in their rematch on UFC 214.

Cormier and Jones were all tied to the scorecards of the jury members in the third round with Jones who closed the show with a main kick and follow -up land and pounds.

More than 7 years later, Jones versus Cormier is still considered one of, if not the greatest rivalry in the history of UFC, for them back and forth between fighting.

Although Cormier was not exactly the most difficult fight of Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion still praised DC as his 'biggest rival' in his interview after the fight.

“I want to take this time to thank Daniel Cormier for my greatest rival and motivator,” Jones said at UFC 214.

“Daniel Cormier, he has absolutely no reason to hang his head. He has been a model champion, a model husband, a model father, a teammate, a leader.

“I strive to look much more like that man because he is a great person.

“Unfortunately we are opponents, but outside of that he is a real champion for the rest of his life,” Jones said about Cormier.
