Jon Jones defended by UFC fan favorite for requesting six-month camp to prep for Tom Aspinall

UFC star Kevin Holland came to the defense of Jon Jones because he reportedly wanted to prepare for at least six months to prepare for the fight against Tom Aspinall.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Jones will remain in negotiations to combat the interim title holder Tom Aspinall later this year. According to UFC CEO Dana White, negotiations are in the last part and an announcement appears.

Although there has been a lot of good news for Vecht fans with regard to Jones vs. in recent days. Aspinall, the fight may not flourish as quickly as most want. As reported by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani earlier this month, Jones wants to prepare for at least six months notice period for Aspinall, which would eliminate every chance of Jones versus Aspinall in June with the annual International Fight Week card of the UFC.

Jones's reported desire for a long camp made some Vecht fans furiously waiting for the heavyweight title Unification Bout. But Kevin Holland, one of the most active hunters in the UFC Roster, came surprisingly to defend Jones.

Kevin Holland defends Jon Jones' request for a six -month camp to fight Tom Aspinall

During a recent performance on Michael Bisping's Believe You Me -Podcast, Holland Jones reportedly defended the long game for the Aspinall fight.

“I'm going to stand up for him a bit,” said Holland about Jones. “The guy has been around for a long time and he has fought many people. Tom Aspinall is an absolute beast. Jon Jones, is the best to do it in his timetable, and now he actually does it in a different time school. Og of the game.

“Yes, we might not like it, it's bad, we want to see the fight tomorrow. But the older I get, the slower I play the game,” Holland continued. “When I am Jon Jones, I will do everything to ensure that Tom Aspinall understands how powerful and how dominant I have been over the years, and all the things I have done. So by the time it comes for us to fight, he will be so in your own head, and it will be rough. Hopefully Tom will not fall for that!”

Holland was then asked how he would suggest that Aspinall would tackle the constant delays of Jones to sign the dotted line and proposed a surprising solution.

“If I'm Tom, I want all the experience I can get. Every advantage I can have to fight with a man like a man [Jon Jones]”Replied Holland.” I want the man to be so scared of me, instead of being afraid of that guy, that he cannot do anything … Jon Jones has proven that he can sit down for a certain time and still f – someone up! I don't want to sit down for long and become a supreme athlete. I want to continue and do my thing. “

Aspinall defended the interim -heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes on UFC 304, after he had earned it against Sergei Pavlovich on UFC 295. After beating Blaydes, Aspinall insured the UFC buyer that he would not again defend the interim title if he would wait for that long.

Jon Jones offered $ 50 million to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion

In the meantime, Jones remains adamant about fighting at least once in the UFC Octagon, probably against Aspinall. But a victory over Aspinall could possibly force Jones to entertain the possibility to fight against another former UFC heavyweight title holder.

PFL founder Donn Davis made the headlines this week when he offered Jones $ 50 million to fight against Francis Ngannou. Jones and Ngannou were in short conversations to fight in 2021 and 2022, but negotiations got stuck after Ngannou's tense contract dispute with White and the UFC Brass.

Jones and Ngannou faced a PFL event in 2023 and spent speculation about a potentially superfight that flourished. But White is not interested in a cross-promotional company and has high hostility with Ngannou that goes back for years.
