Dustin Poirier may have given Jon Jones a lesson in withdrawing MMA with his efforts on UFC 318.
After months of unrest in the heavyweight division and debate about Jones who refused to fight Tom Aspinall in a union fight, things were finally cleared in an anti -climactical way when Dana White announced the controversial pension of Jones.
The news was delivered casually during the Backstage press conference of White at the UFC Fight Night in Baku. Things could not have been different if it concerned Dustin Poirier's pension on UFC 318.
'The Diamond' revealed his decision to hang his gloves months in advance, with the construction of the conclusion of his career in his home on Saturday evening. Poirier was defeated by Max Holloway in their BMF confrontation, but he was still able to attract a last war for his supporters.
And many of those fans have not missed a chance to remind Jones how far his farewell was to that emotional farewell in New Orleans.
Jon Jones is taken under fire after Dustin Poirier's pension surpasses his moderate announcement
While he participated in the congratulation reaction on the last farewell of Poirier at the PPV on Saturday, Jones again thought the target of many in the MMA community.
“Much better than your BS pension,” they wrote in response to Jones and sent a message to Poirier after the conclusion of the Main Event of UFC 318.
Others shared similar sentiments in the commentary part.
“Dustin will not retire like you.”
“Two weeks of pension?”
“Your turn now … we demand a pension like (this) of you.”
“This is how legends retire, in case you didn't know.”
It is not surprising, considering how active he has been on social media when it comes to responding to his opponents in recent months, Jones quickly hit back.
“Why the negativity? My last fight I have defeated the greatest heavyweight of all time for a record -breaking 16 title profits. I did it in my home in Madison Square Garden. And if that wasn't my last time, the next one in the White House will be at the greatest event in the history of our sport,” Jones wrote on X.

On the last claim from Jon Jones, Dana White begs to differ
While Jones continues to mention his plan to retire to fight in the White House, he may want to view Dana White's press conference after UFC 318 …
While 'Bones' has consistently spoken about the headliner of the celebration on July 4 on July 4 as if it is certain, the White House of White Jones hopes that the controversial former two -division champion cannot be familiar with such a big moment.
“It's not even about winning the belt,” explained White. “You know how I felt about him. You know that I can't run the risk of placing him in a large place in a large place and let something go wrong – especially the map of the White House.”
Jones still has to respond to the comments of the UFC CEO and it is still to see how that snub can influence his comeback plans.
