Like many other UFC heavyweight champions, Jon Jones reflected on his 2024 with a post on social media.
In early 2024, fans were skeptical about whether we would even see Jon Jones in the UFC Octagon again given his injury issues in 2023.
Despite this, 'Bones' returned at UFC 309 and successfully defended his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic.

Chael Sonnen roasts Jon Jones for his social media post in late 2024
While it has been a relatively successful year for the biggest consensus of all time, he has only fought once and that was a fight that attracted extremely little interest.
Fans were much more interested in seeing a title fight between Jones and interim champion Tom Aspinall, and due to Jones' feelings about that potential fight, he was labeled a 'duck' for most of 2024.
Despite this, the heavyweight champion reflected on his year with a post on X (formerly Twitter), and it was picked up by former UFC star Chael Sonnen.
Reflecting on the year

Sonnen proceeded to go through Jones' list, talking about each different point and giving his thoughts on them.
“Is hiking Sandia Mountain in Albuquerque an achievement? I'll have to take his word for it. Doesn't sound that impressive,” Sonnen said of one of Jones' points.
After eight minutes of reading Jones' reflection, Sonnen hilariously interrupted: “What, eight minutes is up? But I'm not done with the annual review yet. Is that it?
Will Jon Jones fight Tom Aspinall next?
Heading into 2025, fans are very hopeful that we will finally get Jones vs Aspinall, especially considering recent comments from UFC CEO Dana White.
When asked if he is confident a fight will happen next, White claimed he is '100%' confident, sparking excitement among fans.
Despite this, 'Bones' has made it clear that he needs 'f*** you money' to fight Aspinall and the promotion has historically not gone out of its way to provide that.
One major gray area in Jones' career is already the fact that he hasn't fought former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
2025 could be the year we see the greatest consensus of all time fight his final fight in the sport, otherwise we might not even get this far.
