Jon Jones reveals his Mount Rushmore of UFC fighters: ‘We’ve all done great things’

Jon Jones has called the top 4 best UFC hunters of all time.

Since its foundation in 1993, the UFC has crowned dozens of world champions with an elite that are above the rest.

With 16 title fights on two divisions and many more performance, there is demonstrably no hunter better than UFC Heavyweight Champion Jones, who after 17 years of fighting and a growing waiting for Tom Aspinall is considering.

Of course the legendary Jones is hardly the only hunter in the 'goat' conversation.

Jon Jones puts himself on UFC Mount Rushmore with Georges St-Pierre and others

In a recent interview with Vicblends, Jones was asked to give his 'Mount Rushmore' from UFC hunters and to give his top four:

“Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre and myself, in no specific order,” said Jones.

“I think we have all done great things in this sport,” Jones added.

Just like Jones, Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre all tested in different weight classes at the best of the best.

The St-Pierre of Canada dominated the Welterweight Division for years before retired in 2013. GSP came back later to win the middleweight title against Michael Bisping in 2017, leaving the sport behind a 13-fighter wintreak.

Silva ruled as the middleweight champion from 2006 to 2013 and even won fights in light heavyweight today.

In 2012, Silva established the record for most UFC title defenses on 10 with UFC Flyweight 'Goat' Johnson exceeded him five years later with an 11th consecutive defending defense.

Jon Jones builds his 'perfect' UFC hunter

After he called his UFC Mount Rushmore, Jones built his 'perfect' hunter using the skills of UFC legends.

One of the most rounded hunters in the history of UFC are …

“Fighting IQ, I would start with myself,” said Jones.

“I would give Anderson Silva striking …

“Cardio, can I use myself again? I have never really gassed in a fight. I am really proud of overtime my opponents.

“Wrestling, I would go with Georges St-Pierre. Jiu-Jitsu, I would go with Demian Maia,” Jones continued.

“And boxing, Dustin Poirier has a number of pretty good hands and Ilia Topuria, he also has some pretty good hands.”
