Jon Jones trolls former rivals with four-word tweet while watching UFC 310

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones took advantage of watching two of his former rivals at UFC 310.

Jon Jones, who is fresh off a dominant win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, is enjoying some downtime amid ongoing UFC contract talks. After beating Miocic, he will likely face Tom Aspinall next year, despite his past indifference.

In the meantime, Jones joined millions of people around the world to watch UFC 310, the UFC's final pay-per-view card. The UFC 310 preliminary bout featured a clash between two former UFC light heavyweight title challengers; Dominick Reyes and Anthony Smith

Reyes put on a dominant performance against Smith, ultimately finishing Smith in the second round by TKO. He lost to Jones by a controversial unanimous decision at UFC 247.

After watching Reyes vs. Smith, it didn't take long for Jones to take to social media.

Jon Jones mocks 'son' Dominick Reyes after UFC 310 win

“I watch my sons fight,” Jones posted with a screenshot of Reyes vs. Smith.

As of this writing, neither Reyes nor Smith have responded to Jones' tweet. Jones' tweet comes just hours after Reyes fired several shots at the former UFC light heavyweight champion for their controversial clash inside the Octagon.

Reyes is on a roll with back-to-back wins after a four-fight losing streak inside the Octagon. His loss to Jones at UFC 247 was the first of his career, and he subsequently suffered knockout defeats to Ryan Spann, Jan Blachowicz and Jiří Procházka.

Reyes recorded his first-round knockout victory against Dustin Jacoby earlier this year. He also has victories against the likes of Chris Weidman, Volkan Oezdemir and Ovince Saint Preux during his career.

Jon Jones eyes a return in 2025 amid ongoing UFC contract talks

Jones defeated Smith by unanimous decision at UFC 235, but the fight was not without controversy. Jones was deducted two points in the fourth round after landing an illegal knee to Smith's head.

Instead of opting for the win by disqualification, Smith opted to fight on, making it the full five-round distance. Since the Jones fight, Smith has been up and down the UFC Octagon, suffering recent defeats to Johnny Walker and Roman Dolidze.

Jones earned the then-vacant UFC heavyweight title by submitting Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. After suffering a torn pectoral last year ahead of his scheduled UFC 295 booking, Jones' title reign was postponed indefinitely and Aspinall earned the interim belt.

Jones is in the middle of contract negotiations with the UFC and he could potentially earn a huge payout for a clash with Aspinall. Despite being long behind him at light heavyweight, Jones still keeps an eye on some of his former 205-pound opponents.
