Jon Jones was stripped of UFC belt after knocking out bitter rival in career-best win wiped from his record

Jon Jones came back to earth with a bang after the biggest victory of his career.

The current heavyweight champion shares one of the most bitter rivalry in the UFC history with Daniel Cormier, whom he argued at a press conference before he won their first fight by decision in January 2015.

Two years and a number of controversies later 'DC' had the light heavyweight title for their Rematch.

Jon Jones won his belt back with a brutal knockout victory over his biggest rival at UFC 214 in July 2017.

Jon Jones lost his title after the largest UFC victory

Two months after his career-best victory, Jon Jones was stripped of the 205LB UFC title for the third time.

The greatest hunter in the MMA history received a ban of 15 months for testing positive on an anabolic steroid, Turinabol, during a pre-fighting test.

As a result of the drug ban, Jones saw his famous victory over Cormier turned into a no-contest.

The light heavyweight belt was returned to Cormier, who defended it by beating Volkan Uzdemir before he went up a division, became a double weight champion and spent the rest of his Hall of Fame career with heavyweight.

As far as Jones are concerned, he served his suspension and won his belt back by eliminating Alexander Gustafsson.

After three defenses and a huge dismissal, Jones stepped up to heavyweight and won a second title.

Jones has not fought anymore since he has eliminated Stipe Miocic to defend his heavyweight belt on UFC 309 in November 2024.

What is the next step for Jon Jones?

Jon Jones can be about to be stripped of his UFC championship again.

Interim heavyweight title holder Tom Aspinall is currently waiting for a crack at 'Bones'.

UFC CEO Dana White has guaranteed '100 percent' that the two men will fight later this year.

Jones' apparent hesitation to take the matchup with Aspinall has led him to be stripped.

The 37-year-old insists that this is not something he is worried about in his last update about the Aspinall fight.

On Monday, Jones tweeted about good food and losing weight during his time in Southeast Asia.

A fan replied: “Enjoy your last days as a champion before I was stripped, I see eh Jon?”

Jones struck: “Strip? Lol, do I come across as the type of person who cares about things like that?”
