Jones reveals message from Klopp after reaching Liverpool landmark in Fox win

Curtis Jones has revealed that he received a message from former manager Jurgen Klopp immediately after making his 100th Premier League appearance on Boxing Day.

Liverpool moved seven points clear in the Premier League as they came from behind to beat the Foxes 3-1 at Anfield.

Jones started the match, but the home crowd was stunned when Jordan Ayew put the visitors 1-0 ahead in the sixth minute.

However, the Reds hit back through Cody Gakpo before Jones put them ahead when he poked home from close range.

Mo Salah wrapped things up and there was a message waiting for Jones as he returned to the dressing room.

Jones actually didn't know it was his 100th top game for the club until he read the text from his old boss.

'It was Jurgen!' smiled Jones in his post-match interview. 'I just came in, we had a conversation with the team and I just got on the phone.

'I normally text family and stuff and I saw a text from Klopp, he said 'congratulations on 100 games and on to another 500' or something like that.'

'I thought: what is he talking about, 100? I do more than that! But I just checked Instagram and 100 games, yeah. Proud, very proud.

'He is [Klopp] on Instagram so he can see it!' Curtis added. 'But that's the way he is, he's still in touch with the whole team.

'He's a great man and we still love him. He was the one who set up the team we have now, the basis was already there and Slot just continued it.'
