After his return to the field in the last minutes of the second group match of the team against Porto, Jordi Alba can increase against Palmeiras this Monday, while Inter Miami is playing his group phase action in the World Cup 2025. The team ended the final preparations in Hard Rock Stadium prior to confrontation with the Brazilian giants, but not before the veteran left back shared a few words with the media.
At the age of 36, Alba thought about the unpredictable beauty of the sport and reporters told: “That is the great thing about football – you can beat every team in today's game. He added that the tournament has already proven how much the worldwide playing field has equalized: “You can now challenge each team. Physically, everyone is planning to parry – some more, a little less – but physically plays a major role in today's game. And ultimately it is the individual talent in all teams that end with a decision -making competitions.”
Inter Miami's group phase objective
When asked about the possibility of setting up on a draw against Palmeiras – a result that both teams would send to the next round, but intermiami would end the second in the group, the defender was adamelable:
“This team is aimed at winning, doing everything we can,” said the veteran defender. “I have never stepped onto the field without winning the goal, and so we will all approach this match: to win it, to play well as we did against Porto, and hopefully to end up at the top of the group.”
Stuck at the back and powerful in attack
Speaking with our correspondent Fernando PetroCelli, Alba weighed what the increase in Inter Miami is feeding the tournament in shape.
“Maybe we are just more focused,” he explained. “It is true – we are hardly admitted, and with the kind of quality that we have in advance – Messi, Suárez … We know that we always have opportunities to score.”
He closed his thoughts with a strong sense of optimism about the momentum of Inter Miami – not just for the club World Cup, but for what awaits us in the new campaign.
“I think we play very well, get better every day,” he said. “After this tournament we have MLS and the Leagues Cup come up, and we have to continue to compete. If we stay at this level, our chances of winning titles, on our way. Playing against elite teams only sharpen us as a team, and if we reach the knockout rounds, imagine how high our ceiling could be.
Back in business
Jordi closed the conversation and touched his recent return of injury with a calm feeling of readyness to:
“I feel physically good. Of course I was out for three weeks without playing, but to be honest it doesn't feel like a big gap because there was an international break at the time. I didn't really miss much. Now we will see what the coach decides.”
