Jorge Masvidal names the man who could dethrone Ilia Topuria as UFC featherweight champion

Former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal believes that a man has the best chance of disguising Ilia Topuria's UFC Featherweight Title Reign.

UFC Vederweight Champion Ilia Topuria is fresh from beating BMF title holder Max Holloway in his first title defense on UFC 308. But while he looks ahead to what the next step is for his title government, another BMF legend potentially be his biggest threat.

Topuria has a few potential options for his next fight, including a possible super fight with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. A middleweight star may leak the return of the featherweight champion for UFC 314 in April.

In the meantime, all options are on the table for the return of Topuria while he continues to climb the pound-for-pound rankings. He could possibly run back with Alexander Volkanovski after winning the title on UFC 298 last year.

But Jorge Masvidal has a different name in mind for the next fight by Topuria, of which he says it could be his most difficult test so far.

Jorge Masvidal chooses American Top Team Teammate as the biggest threat to Ilia Topuria

During a recent performance on the Jaxxon -Podcast, Masvidal chose a surprising name for what the biggest test of Topuria in the featherweight division could be.

“We still have a murderer from the American top team. This sucks for me because these are two friends of mine. I love both boys … I love Ilia, and I love Movsar. Movsar is the opposite in many ways because he can struggle, man, “said Masvidal.

“This guy can struggle. He is unbeaten in the UFC and has great victories. He is the type of man you would think you should beat Ilia. Do not stand with him, because he clearly has some secret sauce in his hands. Get it down, check him and maybe Movsar is the man who does it. (H/t Sportskeeda)

Movsar Evloev defeated the most recently Aljamain Sterling on UFC 310 in December. It was a competitive fight from start to finish, but the undefeated Evloev left the Octagon with a decision victory.

Evloev and Topuria would meet each other earlier in their career at UFC 270, but the fight fell apart after Evloev aroused weeks of cancellation. The two parties have been ruining on social media for years and a potential fight between them can be logical for the next defense of the Feedweight Champion.

Ilia Topuria's lightweight teasing complicates the next featherweight title fight

But an intriguing element of Topuria's place in the UFC is his troubled move to the lightweight division. Almost immediately after he became the first hunter to eliminate Holloway, Topuria announced a move to 155 pounds, possibly against a former champion for a number 1 competition.

Topuria fought earlier in his career against Lightweight against Jai Herbert and gathered to win a TKO victory after he had fallen early in the fight with a main kick. Before Holloway and Volkanovski wins, Topuria deserved victories over Josh Emmett, Bryce Mitchell and Ryan Hall.

Whether the next battle of Topuria will be in featherweight or lightweight is uncertain at the moment, but anyway, it is expected that it will be another high -profile matchup. We could get more clarity about the future of Topuria in the coming weeks.
