Jorge Masvidal sends heartfelt message to Ben Askren after successful double lung transplant

Support has continued to flow in for the former UFC star Ben Askren after successfully undergone a double lung transplantation after a long health struggle.

More than a month ago, terrible news began to circulate that former UFC star Ben Askren was in a critical condition after a serious Staph infection led to further health complications.

The combat sports world immediately started to gather behind Ashkren and a few weeks later a somewhat positive update was provided after he could open his eyes.

After his victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Jake Paul, Askren's former opponent made an emotional plea and promised to make a considerable donation to help Askren secure the double lung transplant he needed.

Fortunately, prayers were answered and Askren got a double lung transplant and the operation was a success, his wife Amy has updated the fans.

And when only a few weeks later, Askren gave an extremely emotional update of himself while lying in a hospital bed, which stated that he “died only four times.”

With the wrestling legend now hopefully on the way to recovery, supporting support messages will continue to come in and Dana White has praised the 'incredible' warrior.

And not long from Askren's successful double lung transplantation, his greatest rival ever Jorge Masvidal has sent him a sincere message of support.

“This goes to the only series, am asking. What is my brother, I know we were rivals in the ring, I just want to say that God bless you, if I return to America, if I could shake your hand, brother, brother, and just share a prayer with you,” Masvidal said in a video on social media.

“I know you get through this because you are finished – Scarer, brother. God bless, your story is rather inspiring what you are going through now, hoping to return and just shake your hand,” Masvidal continued.

The combat sports world continues to support Ben Askren in his recovery

Although it has received the life -saving double lung transplantation, it is still a long way to recovery for 'funky' ash, but luckily the combat sports world remains with support.

“We love your buddy! You are a hunter, that's why you are fighting back! Thank goodness we still have you,” Daniel Cormier noticed on his message.

“I love you … you have always been the most difficult man I have ever been in my whole life. Proud to call you my friend. I would not be where I am today without your belief in me,” said Michael Chandler.
