Jose Mourinho learns his fate after grabbing the nose of Galatasaray boss in outrageous derby incident

Jose Mourinho was hit with a ban from three games after he had grabbed the nose of Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk in amazing scenes.

The Fenerbahce side of Mourinho was dumped from the Turkish cup after a 2-1 defeat by their fierce rivals on Wednesday evening and the tensions overwhelmed when a massive battle between the two sets of players broke out after the last whistle.

After approaching Buruk from behind, Mourinho apparently squeezed the nose of his opposite song. Buruk, 51, then fell to the floor and covered his face with his hands.

Mourinho, 62, was also beaten with a 292,500 Turkish lira (£ 5,955) fine.

After the game, Buruk saw Buruk play the incident and said that there was 'nothing between me and Mourinho'. However, he admitted that it was 'not stylish movement'.

But Galatasaray fired up the fire after he sensationally accused the self -proclaimed 'physically attacking' Buruk. They also submitted a criminal complaint to the Istanbul Chief Public Procurutor's Office that was rejected on Friday.

The disciplinary board of the Professional Football said they had taken the actions of Buruk, giving Mourinho a reduced suspension.

Mourinho will now miss crucial Turkish Super Lig matches against Trabzonspor, SivassSpor and Kayserispor, with his side leaders Galatasaray with six points.

Fenerbahce stated that Buruk had acted 'as if he had been shot' before he claimed that he had also made 'disrespectful hand gestures' to provoke Mourinho in the Melee.

Salvatore Foti, the assistant of Mourinho, received a ban of four games for an 'insult to an opposite team player', while Fenerbache midfielder Mert Yandas, sent during a stop-time fracas, will serve a suspension of one match.

Tensions were already high between the two clubs After Galatasaray promised to start a criminal procedure against Mourinho and claimed that the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Boss had made 'racist statements' after a draw in February.

Fenerbahce has thrown their weight behind Mourinho, despite his role in the ugly bust after the game, saying that they are 'not here to play by old rules'.

Board member Fethi Pekin told Sky Sports: 'Mourinho represents everything this club strives for. Ambition, courage and a ruthless desire to win.

“He doesn't take losses as an option.

'He is not here to coach 90 minutes of football. He is here to build a winning culture, and sometimes that means speaking and being firm in the light of provocation.

'What happened in the recent Derby match was not just a football rivement. It was a orchestrated attempt to provoke our bank, our team, our players and our manager.

'Mourinho responded with a fire in himself and resist someone who refuses to be intimidated. And let me say this very, very, very clearly as the board of Fenerbahce, we are completely behind Jose Mourinho.

'We have not accepted Mourinho to adapt to this system.

“We hired him to lift the bar. And lifting the bar makes people uncomfortable. That's fine. We are not here to play according to old rules. '
