Real Madrid have seen a big improvement in the past month, and that is in no small part due to the form of Jude Bellingham. The England international has returned to the position he played in last season, having previously settled in on the wings.
Bellingham, 21, has also been singled out as Real Madrid's leader in recent times. He was asked about it ahead of the Intercontinental Cup against Pachuca.
“There are a lot of leaders in the locker room and they just chose me to speak today, that's all. In the locker room there are many leaders, captains. The most important thing is that we all fully respect and trust each other. Of course I have certain leadership qualities, but so do many others.”
Bellingham has scored a sensational run of seven goals in eight games, with many putting that down to his return to a position behind the strikers. Bellingham said his best position was 'where Carlo Ancelotti puts me'.
“With the first one I am very happy, I can attack the area and get the ball in dangerous situations. I like playing like that. And I hope I can continue to do this.”
The England star also promised that Los Blancos would end the season with good football.
“As for the second, we clearly did not start well, without reaching the required level. We've taken a step back and a step forward, but it's been a very long season. We are a new group, which has suffered a lot of injuries and despite that we are relaxed. I have no doubt that it will be a good season, we will ultimately play good football and we have to show that from tomorrow.”
