The CIES published the list of the 100 players with the highest market value on Wednesday. Four Real Madrid players are in the top 10.
In a world where Rodri is the Ballon d'Or winner and Vinicius is FIFA's The Best, Jude Bellingham is the most valuable player in the world – at least according to the rankings published this Wednesday by the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES). The Real Madrid midfielder is valued at 251 million euros ($258.58 million), while Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, his biggest rival, is valued at 221 million euros ($227.6 million).
Real Madrid dominates the top 10
Four Real Madrid players are in the top 10 and five in the top 20 (Fede Valverde is 17th, valued at 114 million).
Vinicius, who came second in the Ballon d'Or election and took home The Best, completes the podium with a value of 205 million euros. Outside of the top three, no other players reach the magic figure of 200 million. Barcelona's Lamine Yamal is in fourth place with 180 million and five million euros above Kylian Mbappé (175 million), in fourth place.
Despite being the current Ballon d'Or winner, Rodri is far down the list at 73rd. His age (he turns 29 in June) and his ACL injury may have been factors working against him. The value given to him by the CIES is 70.6 million, while other Spanish players such as Balde (85M), Fermín (84M) and Samu Omorodion (73M) are placed above the City star.
The highest value for goalkeepers was recorded for Bart Verbruggen (Brighton & Hove Albion), while Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City) tops the list for defenders and Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP) for players outside the top 5.
