Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham confirmed on Sunday that he will undergo surgery on a long-term shoulder issue after the club's world's cup ended.
The International English International is struggling with discomfort after disrupting a LA Liga match in November 2023 and since then playing with a brace under his shirt.
With Madrid, the victory of the World Cup, planned the operation for After the Final, where Bellingham possibly missed the start of the LaLiga season when he recovers.
“I have the point where … I am fed up with the brace, and I have to pull it and pull (other) players to it, and it is rearranging all the time,” Bellingham said after Real Madrid Pachuca defeated 3-1 in Charlotte.
“I planned an operation for after the tournament, I think we planned it a few days after the final, so I will do the operation and have it repaired.
“I am really happy with that, it was a long time ago. I think I came to the brace at the end of my patience.
“The physio here and the doctor here have been incredible to help me play well in Game -Out, (but) I am now where I am ready to have a free shoulder and free body in terms of the brace.”
According to reports, recovery of the operation can take up to 12 weeks, so in addition to the first competition matches of Madrid, he can also miss the world cup qualifications of England against Andorra and Serbia in September.
Bellingham thought it was just in the victory over the Mexican opponents of Madrid, a day after his younger brother Jewe Bellingham hit Borussia Dortmund.
Madrid's midfielder said he had thought about even coming for the Pachuca match, which was the first victory of the new coach Xabi Alonso at the helm of Los Blancos.
“Everyone got it yesterday and saying that he is better than me. I had to do something today,” he added.
“We are now one and we will see for the rest of the tournament.”
