Those who want to see Jake Paul losing on Saturday, hope that Julio Cesar Chavez JR was taught during his training camp.
Chavez Jr, the former WBC Middleweight Champion, returns to the Ring on 28 June at the age of 39. He will be the newest man who tries to definitively beat the polarizing Paul.
While once a very promoted miracle in the footsteps of his legendary father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, the last part of the Mexican career was not nice for him.
Chavez Jr lost to Anderson Silva, and while he was a victor in his outing against another MMA veteran previous time-out in Uriah Hall, the nature of that victory did not save the ex-camp from criticism.
The veteran from the past prime has had six defeats in his last 14 fights, an inconsistent run that started with his first career liver in 2011. And when it came to that result, some suggested that the signs were there.
Freddie Roach was frustrated by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr's dedication to training
After beating Sebastian Zbik for the WBC Middleweight title, Chavez JR registered three successful defenses before being confronted with Sergio Martinez.
The Mexican was already known for a questionable approach to training, and the legendary trainer Freddie Roach was apparently agitated during the run-up to the Martinez collision.
Roach expressed his frustrations for ESPN, after he had moved to train Chavez JR in the top gymnastics in Las Vegas, but was met with repeated no-shows by the then camping.
“It annoys me a bit, but the thing is, I am waiting for world champions and I sometimes wait for Manny Pacquiao too,” said Roach. “I wouldn't wait for an ordinary hunter.
“I told him that we should be more consistent in the gym and that has been better, not 100 percent. I went to the house a few times to edit him there.
“One thing about Julio, as soon as we start sports, the training sessions are very good and he finishes his ass.
“The first few times I would just go back to the hotel,” said Roach. “Then he asked me to come to the house and work the mittens.”
Although he came close to a classic comeback of all time in round 12, Chavez JR was largely dominated by Martinez in a one -sided match in the Thomas & Mack Center.
Roach put the result on his hunter's work ethics and said he would stop working with him if he did not appear in the gym.
The 39-year-old Mexican has since tense not more than two consecutive victories.
Max Kellerman offers an example of how Jake Paul will gather it against 'not so dedicated' Julio Cesar Chavez JR
Questions about the dedication of Chavez JR remain to this day, and a reputable sport broadcaster is of the opinion that it could be the reason why Paul wins out on 28 June.
Max Kellerman did not choose a winner when he spoke with Bloody Elbow, but he explained the advantage that the YouTuber boxer has experienced and certified opponent compared to his much more.
“Jake Paul is very good at promoting fights that conquer the imagination of the audience. But he does that by choosing opponents where you would be:” Oh, maybe he loses this one. “
“But Jake is a dedicated hunter and Chavez Jr has not been. This is although Chavez JR participated in a much higher level in boxing. But Jake is dedicated and the Trackecord of Chavez Jr tells you that he is not so dedicated.
“Jake is naturally a larger man and, as I said, he is a dedicated hunter,” Kellerman added. “Chavez has not been that.”
Paul vs. Chavez JR takes place in the Honda Center of Anaheim and goes against each other with the high-profile UFC 317 pay-per-view in the T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas on Saturday.
