Former Liverpool -S Jurgen Klopp is now Red Bull's head of Global Soccer and he can be set for a reunion with Harvey Elliott, who is the target of RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig will present their interest in Liverpool Star Harvey Elliott when Chelsea completes the signing of Xavi Simons. This summer, Chelsea is strongly connected to a movement for Simons and the 22-year-old would like to become a member of the blues.
Simons is a highly appreciated young talent that has delivered 46 target contributions in 78 performances in all competitions for Leipzig, after he initially received loan in 2023 before the move in January of this year was made permanent.
According to the Daily Mail, Leipzig value Simons have presented around £ 60 million and Chelsea, including Christopher Nunku or Tyrique George in a possible deal. However, both players have other options.
If a deal can be closed for Simons, Elliott would be the best target of Leipzig to replace him by appreciating the midfielder at around £ 50 million. A move to Leipzig would see him reunite with the former Liverpool -Baas Jurgen Klopp, who is now Red Bull's head of Global Soccer.
After leaving Liverpool last summer, Klopp admitted that his only regret in his last season did not chose Elliott and said: “But if I regret that Harvey may not play often enough. Because in a very important, intense period – January, many injuries played – he played really well.
Elliott is a fan of Liverpool Liverpool and is reluctant to leave the club, but the 22-year-old has admitted that he may be forced to be forced to be for the well-being of his career after only six starts in all matches.
“It's just a situation that I and the team have to have a conversation about because I am now coming an era where I am 22, I will turn 23 next season,” Elliott said when he was asked about his future while he was gone with England at the European championship under 21.
“I don't really want to waste years of my career because it is a short career. You don't know what is going to happen. I have to think. I have to see if I am satisfied with doing what I do and how can I improve as a player, because that is the most important thing.
“I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that goes somewhere else, then it is a decision that I have to make and I just have to see what happens.
“Nothing ensures that I want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team. I support them too. But above all, it is only about what is best for my career.
“After my injury, I think it would always be difficult, but I had hoped that I would have had some more opportunities – but football is football.”
