The former Liverpool -Baas had his say about the title Triumph of his old side in his debut season under his successor, Arne Slot, packed with the Premier League with the thrashing of spurs on Sunday
Jurgen Klopp congratulated Liverpool on their titles success and claimed that he is very enthusiastic about the future of the club. The former Reds boss posted on social media after his old club secured the title on Sunday with a victory over Tottenham.
Klopp left Anfield last summer after nine years after he won the Premier League in 2020 and the Champions League in 2019. Now Arne Slot has joined him as Reds legend by claiming the title in his debut campaign.
After his last game, he sang the name of Slot on the field – something that was answered by the Dutchman in Sunday's celebrations in Anfield – and since then the couple has kept in touch.
Klopp said: “Super, super happy with the present, extremely positive about the future! Congratulations ynwa (you will never walk alone) thanks Luv”.
Klopp will be back in Liverpool next month to attend the Galabal of the LFC Foundation as a guest speaker. The Black -Tie event will take place on 23 May -two days before Liverpool will lift the trophy after their last match against Crystal Palace.
He still has to confirm that he will attend the competition, but the fact that he is in the city that weekend would probably seem.
Slot has often mentioned that he was grateful for the quality of the squadron that was left to him and he explained why he publicly thanked his predecessor after the 5-1 win over Tottenham.
“Why did I do that? Because of what he did before I even got here. That is something that no manager had ever done before,” he said. “That is what I certainly helped, but apart from that he helped me even more with the team he left behind and the culture he left in that team.
“The quality that the players have was clear to everyone, but the culture of hard work, the culture of not only the players, but also the employees, has been incredible.
“That is one of the reasons why we could achieve what we have achieved this season. For obvious reasons, it was a nice moment to thank him too.”
Kop -defender Ibrahima Konate revealed that Slot was walking through the door and his side ran that they could win the competition before a ball was kicked.
“I think he brings something new, such as the style of playing,” he said. “Just before we started the season, he showed us why we did not win the competition the year before, some details, and he said that if we change and improve that we have a big chance to win the competition.
“And that is what we have done since the start of the season. We have to be happy.”
