Southampton -Baas Ivan Juric pointed out his finger on the club's recruitment after they became the fastest team that was relegated in the Premier League history.
The saints go back to the championship for the first time after a 3-1 defeat in Tottenham confirmed their fate with a record of seven games that are still to play.
Southampton is only shy of Derby's Low and Croatian Manager Juric, who has won only one of his 14 league matches, blamed an unbalanced team.
“Recruitment is everything in football,” said Juric.
'We have many talented young players, but with not many games in the Premier League. What I noticed most in three or four months here is the completely different physicality between us and the other teams in the competition.
“Now is the time to understand the mistakes that the club has made in the past three or four years and to create something very good.”
The only thing that remains for Southampton is to beat Derby's harrowing figure of 11 points from 2007-08.
“It is our goal to prevent the worst team from being in the Premier League history,” said Juric, who wants to stay for next season. 'The fans earn more. Every person who works in Southampton has to do better and create something stronger. '
Saints fans gave their team a standing ovation at the last whistle. “The love they show is incredible,” said Juric.
“They earn more. Every person who works in Southampton has to do better and create something stronger. '
Tottenham climbed back to the 14th with the victory and lifted the spirits for a Europa League quarte final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, although Ange Postecoglou was not completely satisfied.
“First half, we were really disciplined,” said Postecoglou. 'We limited them to one chance and went forward just as threatening as we've searched for a while.
'Second half, we were too passive without the ball, Southampton had a little rhythm, were sloppy with ball and the substitutions did not make the impact I wanted.
“In general, the most important thing is to win, to score three goals and let everyone prepare intact for a big night on Thursday.”
