Justin Gaethje says he will fight again in the UFC, on one condition …
The former BMF champion was not so happy when he died for the next lightweight title fight on UFC 317. Former champion (and the former enemy of Gaethje) Charles Oliveira was chosen to fight against the undefeated Ilia Topuria for the vacant title during the International Fight Week of this year.
Oliveira is 2-2 in his last four fights, while Gaethje is 3-1, with his only loss a brutal Ko to Max Holloway on UFC 300 in April 2024. UFC analyst Din Thomas said that Gaethje would have been the more exciting fight for Topuria instead.
Taking up the title Snub, the manager of Gaethje, Ali Abdelaziz, claimed that Gaethje would retire if he did not get a title; It would be the third of Gaethje, because the former interim champion is 0-2 in undisputed title fights. His rival Dustin Poirier received a third title shot against Islam Makhachev last year.

“I can't control that, so I don't explain energy,” said Gaethje about the potential switch from Topuria to featherweight.
“But sounds stupid for me,” Gaethje added.
