Justin Gaethje shows off gruesome injury one week after Rafael Fiziev UFC 313 rematch

Former BMF title holder Justin Gaethje shared images of a few annoying cracks that he suffered on UFC 313.

UFC fan favorite Justin Gaethje came back in the Win column with an impressive performance at UFC 313, but eventually paid a hefty price for it.

Gaethje defeated Rafael Fiziev through a unanimous decision in a bounce-back performance in the UFC 313 Co-Main event earlier this month. It was his first Octagon performance since a buzzing knock-out defeat against Max Holloway on UFC 300, which waived the BMF belt.

In the aftermath of UFC 313, Gaethje referred to possible injuries to his toes after the victory over Fiziev. A week later we have some clarity about what happened to the UFC -Superster that he had to endure in his decisive victory.

Justin Gaethje shares Gnarly Battle scars from UFC 313 victory

In a recent message from his Instagram story, Gaethje shared nasty blisters on his toes that he suffered in his victory over Fiziev.

“They showed you all my feet on television, so here they are 1 week after the fight,” Gaethje noted. “This is by dragging my feet on the canvas when I throw bumps.

“You don't want to be an ultimate hunter.”

Fortunately, it doesn't seem like Gaethje will miss a longer period after UFC 313. Gaethje called for a title shot in a recent social media message to Dana White, while the next title of Islam Makhacheve stays in the air.

It is a sigh of relief after Gaethje was almost a full year away from the cage to repair the damage suffered against Holloway at UFC 300. He does not spart months after UFC 300 to fully recover and prepare sufficiently for his final comeback fight.

Some doubted whether or not Gaethje could return to his winning ways after the shocking knockout loss. But against a short-notice replacement in Fiziev, Gaethje showed a different level than his arsenal.

A top lightweight went against the title shot of Justin Gaethje

After the public Ultimatum from Gaethje to White, it wasn't long before other contenders would make their title shot stores to prevent him. Arman Tsarukyan, who had to be confronted opposite Makhachev on UFC 311 in January, threw a no. 1 candidate fight with Gaethje.

Tsarukyan doubted the position of Gaethje that his most recent defeat against Holloway was 'an exhibition' and described the knock -out as the BMF champion that was 'sent to the shady'. Gaethje did not respond to the taunting of Tsarukyan, but is introducing a return to the Octagon this summer.

If Gaethje gets the next lightweight title shot, he understands the enormous challenge that waits for him. He praised Makhachev's skills and admitted that he should almost be perfect to deduct the pound-for-pound king of the UFC.

Gaethje is 0-2 in linear UFC title fights during his career, with losses to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira. After a trilogy with Dustin Poirier was briefly presented, it didn't take long before Gaethje closed it.

After his triumphant performance at UFC 313, Gaethje has many options for his next opponent. But the evasive UFC championship belt is at the top of his hit list.
