Justin Kluivert joins exclusive EPL club alongside Kane, Suarez and others

Bournemouth striker Justin Kluivert has joined an exclusive Premier League after his latest hat-trick.

The Dutchman scored three times as the Cherries beat Newcastle 4-1 to boost their European hopes.

It was his second hat-trick of the season, having also had one against Wolves in November.

Kluivert has become only the seventh player in the Premier League era to score two hat-tricks away from home in the same season.

Ian Wright in 1993/94, Robbie Fowler in 2001/02, Michael Owen in 2002/03, Luis Suarez in 2012/13, Harry Kane in 2016/17 and Raheem Sterling in 2019/20 are the others to make the list.

Kluivert told the BBC: 'It's great, great. The best feeling ever.

'We always know we are good. The start of the game is one of the most important things we focus on. That was good today. I am very proud of the team.

'The team is not that big at the moment. We have twelve fit players from the first team. Such a result is simply amazing. We trust each other and believe in each other. I think that's the spirit in our team.

'We can go very far. There are players coming back from injury that we really need. We can dream big, but we just have to stay humble and keep working hard. We'll see where we can end up at the end.'

Kluivert's latest hat-trick means he has scored more goals at St James' Park than his father Patrick, who played 37 times for Newcastle.

“I heard I had already scored more goals than him here, so that's one win over him,” he added.

'It's nice to come here. I followed Newcastle when I was younger. Unfortunately for them, Kluivert now plays for another team.'
