Juventus 2-0 Hellas Verona: Thuram and Koopmeiners clinch victory

The late goal of Teun Koopmeiners sealed a 2-0 victory for Juventus on Hellas Verona, so that the Thiago Motta team was in fourth place in the Serie A.

Koopmeiners added shine to Monday's victory in the last minute of the normal time when he drilled home from a tight corner.

Verona, who are four points free from the relegation places, thought they had taken the lead late in the first half, although Tomas Suslov had a goal to be offside.

But with Verona that Juve had frustrated, who had 12 shots in the first half, Khephren Thuram finally broke the determination of the visitors in Turin in the 72nd minute.

He found a road beyond the impressive Lorenzo Montipo with a first finish from the pass of Andrea Cambiaso, and Koopmeiners was then present to seal the victory.

Juve is now six points behind Serie A Leaders Inter, but two above fifth place Lazio in the race for Champions League qualification.

Debrief data: keeping it clean

Juve has now held 14 clean sheets in the Serie A, more than any other team in Europe's top five competitions.

And this was again a victory built for solid foundations, where Verona only created opportunities worth 0.28 expected goals, while Juve collected 1.85 XG.

Juve has now won three consecutive league matches without giving up. It is the first time they have done that in a single Serie A campaign, because between October and November 2023 they went on a point of four of such victories.
