Juventus 2-1 Lecce: Goals from Koopmeiners and Yıldız seal the win for Old Lady

The game is over and the final score is Juventus 2-1 Lecce. Here is the match report.

Match report

Since replacing Thiago Motta, the new Juve manager Igor Tudor has enjoyed a solid start for life in Turin with one win and one draw of his two games.

Their struggle to score goals – the Bianconeri was unable to score more than once in each of their last four SA matches – perhaps played his head, but he didn't have to worry because his team had done an impressive attacking performance in the first half.

They needed less than two minutes to break the impasse, with Dušan Vlahović's through the ball that Teun Koopmeiners found, who shot low in the corner to prevent Wladimiro Falcone.

In response, Lecce became the post due to the deflected attempt by Nikola Krstović before the attacker saw a shot saved by Michele di Gregorio. However, that turned out to be their last real chance of half, because Juventus took total control.

Vlahović should have double their lead before the 10 minutes and although there was a subsequent silence in procedures, the hosts stepped through the gears in the last quarter of the opening period.

And shortly after Manuel Locatelli's effort was submitted by Falcone, a beautiful Juve movement expanded their benefits. Several players were involved before Kenan Yıldız finished clinically to place the men of Tudor in Cruise Control. Without a Falcone Save from Lloyd Kelly, Juventus would have been three before HT.

Juve was unable to keep up with the same intensity in the second half, because Lecce played more a role in the collision.

Nevertheless, the force of Di Gregorio turned out to be challenging in rescues, with Federico Baschirotto -Kopbal over the bar their only real effort at the start of the second half.

Andrea Cambiasso for Juve, whose last goal in the reverse fixture between these two sides earlier this campaign was the next one to go close, with Falcone who brought the shot in safety.

Baschirotto picked up a goal package with a great header, but Juventus could see the competition to increase their hope to increase the qualification for the UEFA Champions League – albeit with Rivals Atalanta and Bologna to refrain on Sundays.

In the meantime, Lecce is only two points above the relegation zone and they are now without a victory in their last nine games, with these another, even if expected, setback in their attempt to stay under the elite.
