Match report

The Bianconeri are unbeaten in Serie A but are far behind at the top after a series of draws, but a convincing Coppa win continued their quest for silverware this season.

Dusan Vlahovic scored a minute before half-time after scoring an injury-time equalizer against Venezia on Saturday, and Teun Koopmeiners added a second with a free-kick early in the second half.

Substitute Nicolas Gonzalez then came to the fore, teeing up Francisco Conceicao for the third 10 minutes from time, before netting his own fourth in the 89th minute.

Juve boss Thiago Motta may be wondering where such a ruthless display took place in previous matches when Cagliari, who were battling relegation, were alongside him in the league in October.

And there will be another chance to put things right in the last eight in February as Motta's men now face Empoli, another team who have already taken points from them in Serie A.

Data debrief: Coppa control again

Perhaps it should come as no surprise that 15-time winners Juve have reserved one of their most dominant performances of the season for this competition and this stage.

The Bianconeri remain the only side to have reached the round of 16 in every season since this stage returned to a single stage in 2008–09, making it seventeen successful last sixteen matches in a row.
