Juventus coach Motta rues finishing after Fiorentina draw

Motta insists the final problem on Sunday was not their chances.

He said afterwards: “We still had a few days of rest, so there was energy, but we didn't destroy the game. We had to approach the game differently. We conceded too much at the back, but they are quality.” In the end it's the result that counts and we couldn't score an extra goal.

“We had a lot of good moments today and we deserved to score the third goal. This is what we missed today,” the former midfielder continued.

“In other games we managed the defensive phase well, including against Manchester City. Today we had to score the third to end the game. We have guys like Khephren Manu, Savo, Francisco and Koopmeiners who have the desire to progress and score goals. They can drag the others too.

“We need to be more clinical and improve. That's where you make the difference.”

Motta added: “I don't believe in bad luck. We should have ended the match and not left any chance to the opponent. I don't believe in bad luck. I believe in merit.”
