Juventus coach Motta upset with players after AC Milan defeat

Kenan Yildiz put Juve ahead, but Milan fought back on Friday to win 2-1 in Riyadh.

“We certainly can't be happy with what we did, especially in the first half, while in the second half we also failed to convert chances to kill the game. Milan also did very little, so they shouldn't have been able to win the match by doing exactly that,” Motta told Sport Mediaset.

“All the choices I make during the match are in the interest of the team, it is up to you to judge whether I did well or not.

“This is an important defeat, yes, because it was a match in which we had a very good chance of reaching the Final. It's disappointing, I think we had a big, big chance to beat Milan but we couldn't.

“We need to improve our character because we were in control, we created chances to end the game and we didn't. Character comes into play when a negative incident occurs and you need to be able to respond. In the first negative incident today we did not react and we missed the opportunity to play in the Final, which was completely in our hands for 70 minutes.”
