Juventus midfielder Locatelli takes blame for Supercoppa defeat

Juve had the lead, but Milan fought back on Friday evening to win 2-1 in Riyadh. With a 1-0 lead, Locatelli gave the won and converted penalty away from Christian Pulisic.

“I made a mistake that was decisive, because I didn't see Pulisic coming. That gave Milan hope and we didn't have the strength to respond, so we threw away a game we had in hand,” Locatelli told Sport Mediaset.

“I'm sure you will analyze these things, but all I can do is analyze what we did on the pitch and that starts with my mistake.

“I think we lack the maturity to control the game, but especially to score the second goal and decide the game. It's part of a process. We don't have much time to learn and make mistakes, so we have to speed it up.

“We believed we would win, but this is football and we have to move on.”
