Juventus to return to Araujo pursuit with offer that meets Barcelona price

It looked like Ronald Araujo would stay at Barcelona for at least the rest of the season, but Juventus are set to scupper those plans. The Bianconeri are planning a new approach.

After discussions with sporting director Deco, Araujo had probably decided to stay at the club until the summer, with new contract talks on the horizon. One of the reasons why Araujo was convinced was that Juventus, the main club making moves for him, had not made a sufficient offer. However, Sport has information from both GdS and Tuttosport showing that Andrea Cambiaso's proposed move to Manchester City could change that.

With Cambiaso slated for a €65 million purchase by Pep Guardiola, the influx of cash will allow Juventus to increase their bid for Araujo from €50 million to €70 million. It was previously reported that Barcelona's asking price would be €60-70 million, but the centre-back will have the final say in every move.
