Kamaru Usman gets called out by the surging UFC welterweight Daniel Cormier urged him to avoid

Kamaru Usman returned to the UFC Welterweight Title Picture in Atlanta.

It was almost four years since Usman had lifted his hand in the Octagon. That victory -dried finally ended last Saturday evening in State Farm Arena.

In the main event of UFC Atlanta, Usman Joaquin Buckley dominated to return to winning ways and resolve his name in the championship interview on 170 pounds.

When it comes to his next step, 'the Nigerian nightmare' has been clear in calling a title shot. Although that Mentality has seen Usman Belal Muhammad as an option, 'remember the name' is not the only competition with the 38-year-old in their sights.

Sean Brady calls for Kamaru Usman after UFC Atlanta

During a recent episode of his podcast next to his teammate Joe Pyfer, Sean Brady gave his opinion about the latest version of Usman and how it influenced the top of the weight class.

Currently ranked no. 2 out of 170 pounds, Brady is looking for an opponent he can meet in an eliminator.

With talking about a confrontation between Brady and Ian Machado Garry that is not yet made in an official booking, the resident of Philadelphia shouted usman instead.

“I was number one, now I am number two,” said Brady. “I'll fight against Usman. He is a former champion. I think I and him – I would rather do that (then fight against Machado Garry).

“Now it's logical. I'm here for it … Let's not wait. Let's see who the number one competition is!

“None of us gets the title shot. … They then say Shavkat's (Rakhmonov), then there is Ian, then there is Usman,” Brady added. “Usman defeated Net Buckley, who was seven. I was (through) who defeated Leon Edwards, who was number one at the time.”

Daniel Cormier advised Kamaru Usman to stay away from Sean Brady

Brady's Callout comes just a few days after Usman was encouraged to prevent him from meeting the grab specialist in the cage.

The 32-year-old has won three in a row since his only UFC loss against former Muhammad champion. Brady Leon Edwards recently submitted in London to follow his triumphs about Kelvin Gastelum and Gilbert Burns.

With Brady's style and youth in mind, Daniel Cormier told Usman to look for his next opponent somewhere else while talking about his good guy/villain show.

“What I don't do is – I look at the top five or top three and go:” Which do I want? “

“You don't want Sean Brady. Sean Brady is crazy and he is young,” Cormier added. “It would be if again fighting Joaquin Buckley.”

It seems that there is a lot for the UFC matchmakers to find out when it comes to the Welterweight division.

Fortunately they will have some time before they need a number one competition, thanks to the arrival of lightweight Kingpin Islam Makhachev and his expected shot on the title of Jack della Maddalena.
