Kamaru Usman publicly settles Ben Askren beef after old rival retires ‘Marty from Nebraska’ nickname

Kamaru Usman is the latest UFC star who wants Ben Askren the best in the midst of his continuous health struggle.

Jorge Masvidal was one of the many people who pray for 'Funky' after he was admitted to the hospital with a serious case of pneumonia, giving him a double lung transplant.

Ben Askren later returned to his family, but he has since been admitted to the hospital by an infection.

The former MMA world champion uses social media to keep his fans informed while fighting the most difficult test of his life.

Kamaru Usman Splasht Ben Askren Beef

On Saturday, Askren shared a story about one of his friends who visited him in the hospital.

The 41-year-old revealed that he had closed his friend when he tried to use a nickname for Kamaru Usman, of which the former UFC champion Welterege is not a fan.

“Had an old friend visit me in the hospital and he brought Marty from Nebraska and I said you can't call him Marty anymore, because he gets P – Ed,” tweeted asked. “My buddy was stunned!”

Usman quickly got the wind of Askren's remark and responded with a stylish message on his old rival.

“@BenaskRen Glad you're doing well, my husband. One day you're back,” he replied.

Askren responded with three praying emojis to officially end a beef that started for the first time before UFC 235.

Why did Kamaru Usman and Ben Askren fall out?

Ben Askren scored a controversial entry victory over Robbie Lawler in March 2019.

On the same map, Kamaru Usman Tyron Woodley opened to become the 170 pound champion.

A few days earlier, security had to intervene when Usman Askren confronted Backstage.

'The Nigerian nightmare' was unhappy that Askren told everyone that his name is the name Marty.

Usman's angry reaction failed because many people started calling him 'Marty from Nebraska' to get a response.

In the end, Usman and Askren never resolved their beef by fighting while their career took different paths.

Six years later, a short social media exchange has forever ended their feud.
