Kamaru Usman reveals who would give Khamzat Chimaev the best fight at middleweight following UFC 319 title win

After his UFC 319 title profit at Dricus du Plessis, Khamzat Chimaev looks relatively unbeatable in the middleweight division.

On Saturday evening, Khamzat Chimaev finally fulfilled what an inevitability seemed when he first made his debut in the UFC when he won the middleweight title on UFC 319.

The Chetsjesse Drus Du Plessis completely dominated over five rounds, the silence of the doubters who claimed that he did not have the cardio past two rounds.

And only a few hours after his title profit, UFC boss Dana White claimed that he was able to make his first title defense earlier instead of later, in which he stated that he was interested in adding him to the UFC 321 card in Abu Dhabi.

Kamaru Usman reveals who he thinks Chimaev will give the most difficult fight

During his UFC official period to date, Chimaev has looked relatively unbeatable, despite his narrow fighting against Gilbert Burns and Kamaru Usman.

Many fans believe that if his fight against Usman on UFC 294 was five rounds, he would have gone with his first defeat.

And with that, after Chimaev's title win on Saturday, Usman shared his immediate response to X and fans reminded how close his fight against 'Borz' was.

Although the middleweight division is apparently in one of the best positions it has been in recent years, and according to Israel Adesanya, 'in good hands', there may not be a competition that can deduct Chimaev.

'The Nigerian nightmare', however, has commented on who he thinks the newly crowned champion could give the most difficult fight.

“That is difficult to say man. There is now talent in that middleweight division, (Anthony) Fluffy Hernandez, I love what he has been doing so far,” said Usman on the Poundcast of Pound 4 Pound.

“You can see it when you start, and that is what I like about him, when you start to taste a little success, you really start to bite and want more and more, and that is what we see from Hernandez, he gets better and better every time he comes in. He goes far,” Usman continued.

Anthony Hernandez is currently driving on an eight Vechtwin streak with a recent entry win over Roman Dolidze, getting up in the middleweight rankings.

Anyone who thinks Usman will fight Chimaev afterwards

Despite the profit of Hernandez, it seemed likely that the winner of Nassourdine Imavov vs Caio Borralho would fight for the next title, with Chimaev who may return in October, it is unlikely that it will be the winner of that fight.

And with that the former Middle Weight Champion believes that Reinier De Ridder could be the first challenger of Chimaev, given the timing and his recent victory over Robert Whittaker.
