Keane claims Man Utd can only improve, while Redknapp suggests selling a star

Roy Keane believes that Manchester United should go 'back to basics' this summer with their transfer activities and it says 'that they cannot be worse' after a nightmare season.

United stuttered to a 15th placed finish in the Premier League after beating Aston Villa with 2-0 on the last day, but lagged after losing the Europa League final.

Van Ruben Amorim is expected to get money to strengthen his team after he promised to stay in charge and Keane is adamant that he would do well to look closer to home.

Wolves Vooruit Matheus Cunha and Ipswich -striker Liam Delap his goals – and Keane believes that United 'Men' needs to help them deal with the hardships of the top flight.

Keane was his damn verdict over his former club on Sky Sports. 'They can't be worse yet, right? They can't be worse.

“They will have to improve. It is clear that the contracts of a few players are up, they will leave. We go back to recruitment. They have to come into players who know the Premier League.

'Most signing sessions in the past two or three years are players who have never played in the Premier League and they have trouble adapting to it.

'They have to go back to basics and get some really good, real experienced players who know the Premier League, and those are men who are robust, can come out that week, and can do good work for Man United.

“I don't mean challenge for titles, but let Man United the table again.”

Alejandro Garnacho will probably be sold to raise money, while Captain Bruno Fernandes brought the prospect to leave for Saudi Arabia after the last loss against Tottenham.

Although he has been the striking executor of United for the past five years, Jamie Redknapp says that Amorim Fernandes must sell for the EYE-Water reimbursement offered.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: 'It tells you everything if you look and walk through that team and think about yourself, how many of them wouldn't you sell this summer?

“I think, apart from Leny Yoro, purely because he has not been there long and he is a young player, I think every United player will be for sale.”

Asked if that also included Fernandes, who scored 19 goals this season, Redknapp replied: 'I would now, yes, and I am a big fan.

'I think he is a game changer, but I think if the right money has come about and you could invest in the team and I think he is a good player, I think he is a top football player.

'He was poor in the mid -week, but this year he was their leading light, but if the right money were to become available and you could improve your team.

“I would definitely accept it.”
