Manchester United Icon Roy Keane housed his notorious rivalry with Peter Schmeichel after he stood up for a young person at the Premier League club.
Keane's aversion to Schmeichel has been well documented over the years and even referred to the Shot stopper as overestimated in an episode of the overlap in 2024.
The couple came to important blows during the United tour in 1988 in 1998, after Keane de Dane called for his treatment of Academy Player Desie Baker.
As many Academy stars still do today, Baker would do chores for the players of the first team, and when Schmeichel had the problem how the younger cleaned his boots, it led a row of Keane.
“I remember putting down the boots one day. The dressing room was full of all players of the first team,” Baker told the Irish Mirror.
“I walked out of the room and Peter Schmeichel said to me:” Irish. '

Baker admitted that it was his “first meeting” with the former United Captain and he felt that Keane “took care of me directly”.
Baker, however, had no reason to worry because it was Keane who was against his defense after Schmmeichel's comments.
