Keane says there’s ‘no evidence’ Arsenal can win the PL title under Arteta

Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp had different opinions about whether Arsenal could win the Premier League next season.

The Gunners were held on a 1-1 draw in Manchester United, with which they ended a slender hope that they had to catch away leaders Liverpool.

It will be a third consecutive second placed finish like things are standing and former United Captain Keane has not seen enough to convince him that they can go one step further.

'No. Why should I? Why do you think the manager can do it? “He answered when he was asked if the side of Mikel Arteta could win the next season.

'They have been close by in recent years, but City will be strong next year and I am sure that Liverpool will be.

“Where is the evidence to think they can do it? Getting a striker would help, do they have the right mentality? Does the manager have? You see them in a different direction when they lose every week, but they all get agitated when they lose.

'I don't think getting a striker in whom 20 goals scores per season will necessarily be the difference.

'Will City and Liverpool just stand still? They will try to improve, Pep will bounce back and I think Liverpool will be stronger next season. We do not know where Chelsea is, but what is the proof or this group of players they can do it?

“It's good challenging, but it should be about winning titles.”

'Liverpool will look at that and not think that they are being put under pressure, they will think that Arsenal has almost given up the title hunt.

'There is of course that striking problem, but I still thought that there would be that mentality to get the job done. If there was something, it was the opposite. '

'There would have been frustration compared to the past years that they did not cross the line, or get a cup or whatever it could be.

'Then you looked the injuries and the manager looks frustrated there. The title is gone, but he still wants his club to show a good mentality and tries to exert the pressure on Liverpool. In the last two or three games that has now disappeared.

“They lost that momentum, which we saw here today, was not nearly enough. On the one hand you want to give them the honor in recent years, but the next step is the most difficult step. '

Jamie Redknapp, however, thinks that they only miss one piece of the puzzle to cross the line.

'I am convinced that if they sign an elite striker that they will challenge for the title. But how hard they are to find?

'They are always talked about with Isak, he is clearly elite with the goals he has and how he plays. But would Arsenal be the only ones for him if he leaves?

'Sesko is also mentioned with him, but it is just a case of a striker. Although Kai Havertz did well, they signed it as a no. 8.

'Then you ask him to be a murderer in the box – does he get 20 a season? Those are Salah figures. That is what they should try to find, and if they do with their defensive stability, they will certainly come close next season. '
