Kelly concedes future is ‘not at Man City’ ahead of transfer deadline

Chloe Kelly said that she just “wants to be happy again” while she is looking for a step from Manchester City before the transfer deadline of Thursday.

Kelly started only once in the side of Gareth Taylor in the Women's Super League this season and released a statement on Wednesday about her lack of playing time.

The 27-year-old also mentioned her ambitions to play for England at this summer's European championship as Sarina Wiegman's side to defend the title they won in 2022.

Indeed, it was Kelly himself who scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory of the Lionesses in the final against Germany, but she is now worried about her participation in this year's tournament in Switzerland.

Her current contract with the citizens will end in June, although City is said to be open to allow the midfielder to leave the club before Thursday's deadline.

WSL-Rivalal Manchester United have been associated with a move for the 27-year-old, while Brighton is said to have shown their interest in its services.

In an Instagram message posted on Wednesday, Kelly admitted that she “has accepted my future is not in this club afterwards”.

“With the euros quickly approaching, this summer is huge and I want to be able to give it my best chance to represent my country.

“But to be dictated who I can and cannot participate in only four months left of the football season, has a huge impact on not only my career, but also my mental well -being.

“The situation has been towed too long, it is disappointing and not good.”

She added that she could not “control her negative behavior against her” because she wanted to clarify her position on Wednesday – although she did not mention any person.

Her only WSL start this season came back in October in a 2-0 win over West Ham in October, with her other five performances in the top flight of the bank.

“I am at a crucial point in my life and my career is so important to me. [It] It is very disappointing that the sport we love can make you feel in this way, especially after there has been so much growth in our sport, “Kelly added.

“I am human and I have and will give everything to the game I love. In the end I just want to be happy again.”
