Kelly relishes ‘amazing’ Arsenal return after Spurs rout

Chloe Kelly was left to enjoy an “amazing” return to Arsenal when her side Tottenham 5-0 insisted in the Super League for women.

The International of England was introduced on Sunday as a 61st minute replacement, making them perform for the first time for Arsenal after an absence of seven years.

Kelly returned to the Emirates Stadium last month after he had only made one WSL appearance, this campaign, which struggled for minutes and pleasure in Manchester City.

The 27-year-old had previously said that she “wants to be happy again” in the midst of those struggles, and her joy was clearly visible because the emirates stood as one to cheer their recurring Academy product.

“It felt great for incredible support,” Kelly told BBC Sport after beating Arsenal's fierce rivals.

“Since I entered this club, I have felt a warm welcome. In what a game to do it – the Noord -London Derby.

“I felt on the field. It was easy to walk into this dressing room with incredible players and the staff.”

Kelly's memorable comeback was almost covered with a late goal, although the bar denied her broken effort.

“I thought it was going inside,” she added before the England captain Leah Williamson joked “and the shirt would have come off!”.

Kelly did not enjoy much on the football field, since her iconic shirt-over-the-heading celebration after scoring the winning goal in the Euro 2022 final in Wembley Stadium.

The Arsenal -Loanner remains planning to change that and proves himself at home in North Londs.

“The challenge is always there and I am ready to fight for my shirt and I want to work hard to do this,” she added.

“It's all about building relationships with those players with whom you play on the field together. I have settled very well and I am already building those relationships. I just have fun.”
