UFC star Kelvin Gastelum issued his first comments since his collision of UFC Mexico City with Joe Pyfer fell apart.
Kelvin Gastelum and rising middleweight star Joe Pyfer would come in a crucial main card bolt in UFC Mexico City. But only a few hours before the event, Pyfer withdrew due to an illness, leaving Gastelum without an opponent and removes him from the map.
Pyfer has since pronounced disappointment in his last second withdrawal and wants to return to the Octagon as soon as possible. At the moment it is uncertain whether Gastelum vs. Pyfer will be turned or that the matchmakers will go in a different direction.
While the news broke out about the cancellation of Gastelum vs. Pyfer, many fans and experts were disappointed about the scratched competition. But nobody felt the pain more than Gastelum, who recently shared images of the fact that he received a phone call from the UFC matchmakers about Pyfer's Pullout.

Kelvin Gastelum shares the moment he found out that Joe Pyfer was from UFC Mexico City
In a recent message to X, Gastelum issued his first explanation after the event after his fight had been canceled in UFC Mexico City.
“I got the phone call that my opponent fell ill and had to take off the fight,” Gastelum posted on Sunday. “It is clear that I have been stripped to the core about this situation that is outside of my control, but I wish my opponent the very best in the future.”
The last words of Gastelum in the above explanation can be interpreted as an intention to continue with the Pyfer -Matchup in favor of another opponent. He returned to the middleweight division after beating Daniel Rodriguez last June with a unanimous decision.
Gastelum posted images of him who responded to the Pyfer news, which you can view in the clip below.

Joe Pyfer unleashed on Expletive Loaded Rant on Mexico after taking off the last second fights
After he withdrew from UFC Mexico City, unleashed Pyfer a wild anger against Mexico after a tumultuous fighting experience. Pyfer claimed that he would 'never go back' to Mexico and called it an 's -hole'.
At the moment, the UFC buyer has not tackled Pyfer's comments. The promotion returns to Mexico for Noche UFC 3 in Guadalajara later this year.
Only a few hours before he withdrew from UFC Mexico City, Pyfer claimed that he was the 'healthiest one he was ever' shortly after Friday's ceremonial weighting. But after a night of vomiting, abdominal pain and fever, a doctor advised him to withdraw from the event.
As for Gastelum, UFC 236 Bout with Israel Adesanya will enter the UFC Hall of Fame this summer. As far as his fighting career is concerned, he was able to return against an opponent to be determined in the coming months.
