While Pyfer was looking for the biggest victory of his career so far on a former title -publisher who will soon be a Hall of Famer, Gastelum watched a controversial fight with Daniel Rodriguez behind him.

The 33-year-old chose not to wait his journey to Mexico while he looked at the fights in the Arena CDMX before he finished him later in the night with a former two-way champion.

Kelvin Gastelum then has to fight against Joe Pyfer

Since his incredible meeting with Israel Adesanya in 2019, Kelvin Gastelum has gone 3-5 in the Octagon with five canceled fights en route.

His losses have come to the top opposition, but it is clear that the first must collect the ultimate fighter winner to a certain extent.

A victory over Joe Pyfer would help him restore a serious momentum, but he has to wait a little longer before he returns.

The matchup is so logical for both men that although it was disappointing to drop it on such a late notification of the card, it is again booking that it is still the best option.
