Chelsea star Sam Kerr broke her silence after the 31-year-old had been released from the racially aggravated intimidation of a police officer.
Her fiancée Kristie Mewis, who expects the baby of the couple later this year, broke into tears in the court of the court after the judgment was read.
Kerr called PC Stephen Lovell 'Dom and Wit' during a heated row at the Twickenham police station in January 2023.
The Australian football player had made the comments after she and her fiancé Kristie Mewis had thought they were being abducted by a taxi driver after a night out in London.
Kerr once again confirmed that she 'was not going to insult or harm someone' with the comments after the process.
“Following the non -culprit judgment of today, I can finally place this challenging period behind me,” said the Chelsea star in a statement released tonight.
'Although I apologize that I have pronounced myself badly about what a traumatic evening was, I always maintained that I was not going to insult or harm someone and I am grateful that the jury has been unanimously agreed.
“I want to thank my partner Kristie, my family, friends and all fans for their love and support, especially those who have been to court every day.”
In January 2024 in January 2024 did not play football for Chelsea or the Matildas in more than a year after a front cruciate ligament injury.
Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor had hinted that the striker was ready to return to action in February or March.
Kerr added: “I am fully focused to get back on the field and look forward to an exciting year for me and my family.”
It also comes when Kerr and Mewis expect a baby later this year. They announced the news in November with the Chelsea star who then revealed during the trial that they would have a baby boy and that the couple were planning to get married in December.
The jury lasted four hours to make a decision about the issue before Kerr was erased.
PC Lovell had claimed that he felt 'small and upset' after the alleged comments due to Kerr.
During the trial, Kerr denied 'whitiness as insult' after the incident that took place at the police station.
The court heard that Kerr and Mewis had received a taxi after a night out in London, but Kerr vomited out the window of the vehicle. She said that the driver started 'dangerous driving' and left the couple sadly behind. Mewis had kicked the rear window of the taxi in an attempt to escape.
The driver called the emergency services and drove to the police station of Twickenham.
Thinking about the argument in the police station, Kerr accepted that she had called PC Lovell 'stupid and white', but said to the court: 'I tried to express that because of the power and privilege they had, they should never have to be Understand what we had just gone through and the fear we had for our lives. '
A spokesperson for CPS said about the process: 'The position of the crown prosecutor is not to decide whether a person is guilty of a criminal offense, but to make honest, independent and objective assessments about whether it is appropriate for charges to present for a jury to consider.
'In this case we decided that there was sufficient evidence and that it was in the public interest to continue.
“We respect the jury's decision.”
